Aravel Sandals are entirely handmade, in producing them we are using only the best of materials. The finest in quality leathers.

Our natural vegetable tanned Vacchetta Italian leathers will in time darken naturally through exposure to sunlight. This darkening of the leather will add both a richness and added charm to your sandals, as they take on an individualised unique appearance.

In addition, the leathers natural markings are too a feature and a testament to the real quality that are your Aravel sandals. 

The natural leather is very susceptible to moisture of any kind.

Rain water, sea water (especially), surface water, all have the potential of inflicting some damage to your sandals.

Ideally the recommendation is to keep your sandals dry.

If they should become wet, remove the excess moisture with a dry cloth and allow them to dry out naturally.

In addition, the leather can become easily marked if it comes into direct contact with any kind of oil, grease, alcohol or any other caustic substances.

Should the sandals become marked with any kind of staining substance, the recommendation is to use a damp cloth to gradually absorb the substance, then leave in a cool area ( avoid heaters and sunlight ) to dry out.

Thereafter the use of a Leather cream, a saddle soap, will help remove the stains and avoid the sandals becoming too dry.

The advice would be to gently apply the leather cream periodically if the sandals leather appears a bit too dry. This will help maintain a healthiness in the leather.

Ideally storing your sandals is best in a cool and dry place, also using tissue paper under the straps will help to maintain the original shape.
